Welder

Welder roles support manufacturing and fabrication shops by producing strong, clean welds on metal parts and assemblies. You’ll follow drawings and specifications, work safely with welding equipment, and help deliver quality finished products for employers across Toronto and the GTA.

About the Role

Welder roles involve fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components in manufacturing, construction, and industrial environments. In this position, you’ll read blueprints or work orders, measure and prepare materials, and complete welds that meet quality and strength requirements. Depending on the workplace, you may perform MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Cored welding, as well as related tasks like fitting, tacking, grinding, and finishing.

Safety and precision are key. You’ll be expected to set up equipment correctly, use proper PPE, and follow shop and site procedures to prevent defects and maintain a clean work area. Many employers in Toronto and the GTA also look for welders who can work independently, communicate clearly with supervisors and team members, and stay consistent while meeting production deadlines. CWB certification is often an asset and may be required for certain jobs.
